Week 2 - MTC

Everyone,

This week has been a blast.  That's a lie, but I like to start these things off on a good note.  Our roleplay TRC training things are fine, Elder Kovach and I are working hard at being good teachers and understanding the lesson material.  We have exercise time every day for about an hour, so I've been taking my companion to the gym or to the track.  The food is cafeteria, 3 times a day.  It's getting pretty gnarly but there's nothing else to eat, I can't wait to go to a Taco Bell.  I learned a lot about patience this week.  My companion and I are still learning how to work together and be effective teachers, it is a struggle at times.  I'm excited to get to Fresno and meet other people. The Savior loved and so I too must love.  "Love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another" John 13:34. You guys can feel free to email me whenever, right now I can only respond on Tuesdays, but if you message me I'll probably message back soon.  I love you all and hope you're feeling God's love.

'Til next week,
Elder Gneiting

Week 1 - MTC

Dear friends,
This last week has been different.  I didn't entirely know what to expect here at the MTC, but besides the busy schedule and the teaching workshops, the focus is on the Spirit.  I have a spiritual experience just about everyday.  I look forward to my opportunities to pray, share my testimony, and study with my companion.  My companion is Elder Kovach, he is from Frisco, Texas.  He puts on a fake cowboy accent sometimes, but in reality he's a theater kid who likes Nintendo.  He's really a sweet kid though, I call him kid despite him being 10 months older than me.  He did choir and drama in high school, he likes the beach and the sun.  Me and him don't have too much in common, and the things we do have in common we can't really do at the MTC, but when we teach, we make a really good pair. It took me this whole week to find out why God placed him and me together, I found it's because we build each other up in the Spirit, as teachers, and we're great at improvising!  He helps me wake up on time, and I take him for a run and to the gym.  He has a lot to offer on his mission and I'm glad to be his companion.  I know our Savior suffered so that we don't have to anymore.  I know I'm not the best teacher, the most obedient, or the most spiritual, but Jesus Christ will, "put [his] words in [my] mouth, and have covered [me] in the shadow of [his] hand" 2 Nephi 8:16.  I'm learning to love all of God's children, so I can be like the Sons of Mosiah, quaking and trembling at the thought of any lost souls.  I love you all, please take care!
Love,
Elder Gneiting
